ATMs are nothing new in the banking industry. What is new is providing a branded experience from driving up to driving away. I worked with and lead the creative team in redesigning full island ATMs, ATM branded toppers and walk-up ATM enclosures. Each of these experiences needed to match visually to help create consistency when using Midland branded ATMs. An ATM should invite customers to them. Most ATMs in the banking industry are beige boxes. Yes, they perform their task and dispense cash. But, they don’t leave a lasting impression that will help you to remember it next time or the financial institution to which it belongs. Our new design helped in creating a 180 turn in user recognition and traffic.
